As you get older…
When you’re a teenager, you wanna be older so that you can be legal, drive a car, be more of an adult. I remember trying to negotiate a curfew with my Mum when I was about 21. I said “1am is just TOO EARLY Mum! Sometimes, people start going out to party as late as 11pm you know!”
Nowadays, I hardly go out unless work brings me to a launch because I’m all partied out and I’m quite happy to unwind at home in the evenings, walk my dogs round the lake or catch a movie. We go through different phases and growing up changes your ideas about what you think is fun. What’s important to you may also change in time from the toys you used to love, to the lessons you used to take to the sports you used to play. Even partners change over the years as you change.
Another thing that’s different is I find myself thanking people who think I’m much younger than I really am. That’s when you know ur getting old! Haha. Just yesterday while I was shooting a magazine spread, the make up artist was putting on the fake lashes for me asked if I was 22? (dunno if you guys know I’m over 30 shhh! 
Seriously though, there are advantages about getting older. You simply gather so much more experience along the way doing whatever you do.
I have a friend who’s born in the year of the Tiger. He was standing in front of a Tiger statue or decoration 12 years ago thinking to himself “The next time I see this tiger, I’ll be 36! I’ll probably be married by then. Might even have kids, Wow”
The crazy thing is he just saw it again this year and he remembered what he was thinking the last time he saw the Tiger symbol and it depressed him. OMG, he was 36 already? Not that it’s an issue but he’s still single and wondering how a dozen years could have just gone by so quickly. As time goes by, we wonder if we’re on the right track. We reflect about whether we’re happy. We feel the passage of time, subtly but surely.
Age is something we can’t change. It’s like death. It’s a certainty, a fact of life so it’s important to “live the moment” because it’s so precious. Get out there and do whatever makes you happy! Especially before you see your own chinese zodiac come by again!

I like "live to the moment" this quote. Life is brief, people will get older & surrounding changes always, appreciate what we have than saying sorry in the future.
its always a nice thing to grow old, wrinkle and prune-ny.Of course that means we are just that closer to the Death's Door. And yet it is a liberating freedom to know that death is upon us.Life is just now and Death is but an eternal segmentation of our life that we must fulfill. Live the moment and never should one have the moment lived out for you.

I remember when i was schooling, i always wanted to grow old faster so i can work and earn money faster.. but you know years and years after that, i felt like i wanted to head back to school because those were really the good times.. i created an FB group for my old classmates and schoolmates, and slowly searched for them, been an amazing discovery.. so we're meeting up regularly once a month after a few reunions done, been great.. it brings the old school feeling back, doesn't help with the age though but it brings back sweet memories..
I totally agree with you, when we were younger we always hoping that we're older and vice versa. Early this year i realized that i'm old, before, i just don't care about my age but this year i'm quiet worry hehehe worry that i'm getting old but still so much nedd to be accomplished… I wish i'm still 21 years old hahahaha LOL…
when i was young (stil am), i cant wait to get old for all the wrong reasons, now i'm 30 and i want the aging to slow down a bit, its no more the thing i wanted to rush into haha. i guess we take aging for granted. when the big numbers hit us right on the face thats when we realize hey its not so bad, i have my health, friends and families, what more can i ask for? but still, i cant get it into my system just yet when someone somewhere asks you a question starting with 'excuse me pacik/abang' haha i guess im still in denial, only on this particular matter
Totally agree… when we were young, we tend to be more rebellious thus hoping to reach age 21 (key to freedom). As we grow old, we felt time pass to fast and hoping we can stop the clock! In some cases, turn back time to those heydays which we reluctantly admit it was the best!

Am at the same age as your friend as I was born in the year of the Tiger three cycles ago but I believe I have achieved quite a lot and I want to still achieve quite a lot. My only regret is that sometime I say to myself, I should have started earlier…I bet you do too…(and from what I know/see/hear, you are making waves in ur industry, though some may not know it)
