Stress is a costly epidemic. According to the Wall Street Journal, one third of people surveyed in the workforce considered quitting their jobs because of stress. Stress is now the most common cause of long-term sick leave (Source: Guardian) and 60% of lost workdays each year can be attributed to stress.

Everyone has some form of stress but it is always up to us how we respond to it. When we are empowered with the right attitude and tools, we will be able to achieve grace under pressure. The aim of this workshop is not to delete stress from one’s life, but to manage it, before it manages you.

This workshop will help bring awareness to the underlying root causes of stress. One of the major sources of stress is linked to poor time management and this workshop will also be providing action steps to deal with time pressure, combat procrastination and to become more efficient in compartmentalizing the use of one’s time.

Simply put, an unhappy, tired or stressed-out workforce affects productivity and motivation levels, which in turn affects overall employees’ work performance. With stress being such a costly epidemic to companies round the world, it becomes critically important to achieve a work-life balance.

Happiness and being in a positive frame of mind is a natural motivator in the workplace. According to the latest research, happiness makes people more productive at work (Department of Economics, University of Warwick). In fact, when economists carried out a number of experiments to test the idea that happy employees worked harder, they found that happiness made people at least 12% more productive.

According to Forbes, there is increasing empirical evidence suggesting that happier workers are indeed more productive. Hence, it naturally increases the chances of employees being more proactive and driven when it comes to taking the initiatives required for greater success and leadership.
